Richard and his team transformed our old Kitchen/Dining Room into an amazing space, working with us at all times, we can't thank the team enough for the great work they did and highly recommend Richard if you are considering any building work
We contacted several local builders, but none of them seemed interested in helping us. Fortunately someone recommended Rich to us and finally we found someone that could (and did) help us build our new kitchen.
Pleased to say the customer contacted us because we were recommended to them, after they had been let down by other local builders who did not get back to them.
We visited the customer at their house to run through their plans, giving advise and getting a full understanding of what was required.
They had a separate Kitchen/Dining room which they wanted to knock through and refit a new Kitchen.
Why would anyone want to say goodbye to those tiles 🙂
With a top level understanding of the requirements, we went to work on the estimate and schedule to give the customer a good understanding of what was involved (cost and timeline).
A couple of calls with them and a run through of the work involved, everyone was happy to agree a start date and get started, with the wall knock down first.....
We were able to start the work before Christmas so we soon got to work on taking down the supporting wall between the Kitchen and Dining Room.
As a supporting wall a Steel support was required.
The customer was happy to have this work done so they could get a feel for the room, plan their new kitchen and decide which doorway to remove.
Now with one room the customer got a good understanding of the space and was able to plan the kitchen.
We are happy to work with any kitchen supplier, however we were pleased that the customer chose Howdens, who worked with the customer to design the kitchen they wanted, plus several visits to the local showroom to finalise the style.
With the new kitchen ordered with Howdens, the removal of the old kitchen began.
TIP: The customer put the old kitchen on Facebook and luckily they found someone who wanted to take it all away, can't beat recycling 🙂
With work in full swing, it was time to plaster the walls, board and skim the ceilings, remove all plumbing and start first fit of the electrical sockets.
White wash the walls and prepare for the new kitchen to arrive.
With the room all prepared and ready, the installation of the new kitchen begins.
Clever use of wall units into the Dining room to give extra storage which flows through the whole room.
All appliances installed along with the underfloor heat matt installed across the Dining Room and Kitchen.
In preparation of the floor tiles (Karndean Van Gogh collection, Herringbone) the floor in the Kitchen, Utility, Hallways and Cloakroom is levelled with 2 layers of Latex.
We organised Kevin Kercher Herringbone Karndean (Van Gogh Warm Brushed Oak) flooring fitted in a few days (30m sq), kitchen, hallway and cloakroom.Â
With flooring down, time for the final finishing and fitting of the sliding doors.Â
Everything decorated and the kitchen project is completed, completing transforming separate Kitchen/Dining Room into one amazing space.
